As part of our continued growth and expansion, TDT Training Australia now has a current training site in Geelong and we are seeking an experienced, motivated and professional VicRoads Accredited Heavy Vehicle Trainer & Assessor to join our team

About The Role In this role, you will deliver high-quality heavy vehicle training and assessment programs, preparing students for safe and competent operation in the transport industry. You will ensure all training and assessment activities meet relevant VicRoads and ASQA requirements, as well as applicable WorkSafe standards, while maintaining TDT's commitment to quality, safety and industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive theoretical and practical driver training sessions, including both on-road and off-road instructional components.
- Execute formal heavy vehicle licence assessments in strict accordance with VicRoads regulatory frameworks and ASQA standards.
- Maintain accurate, auditable student training records and assessment outcomes.
- Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives, course validation, and internal RTO audits.

Essential Criteria

- TAE40116 (or equivalent/superseding)



Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or be prepared to enroll in an RTO and complete three essential units within a six-month period.
- Current Heavy Vehicle Licence (HC, or MC) – a non-synchromesh, MC licence is highly preferred.
- Current or previous VicRoads Accredited Assessors with a proven track record of compliant assessment delivery are encouraged to apply.
- New to RTO applicants encouraged to apply as full training will be provided.
- Minimum 2 years of commercial heavy vehicle driving experience.

Desirable Subject Matter Competencies

- Possessing an accredited licence or verified competency in High-Risk Work (HRW): Forklift (LF, LO) or Elevating Work Platform (EWP).
- Possessing an accredited licence or verified competency in Specialised Transport: Dangerous Goods (DG Air/Road) or SLP Training.
- Possessing an accredited licence or verified competency in Compliance & Logistics: Basic Fatigue Management (BFM/Schedulers), Chain of Responsibility (CoR), or Load Restraint.
- Possessing an accredited licence or verified competency in Logistics Machinery: Side Loader & Reach Stacker operation.
