Mercure Canberra Belconnen is seeking motivated and reliable Casual Housekeeping Staff to join our team.
As a Housekeeping Team Member, you will play an important role in ensuring our guest rooms, public areas, and conference and events facilities are presented to the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort and presentation. If you take pride in your work, have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working in a rapid-paced team environment, we would love to hear from you.
Key responsibilities
- Cleaning and servicing guest rooms to the highest standard
- Cleaning and maintaining public areas throughout the hotel
- Cleaning and presenting the Conference and Events Centre to ensure a professional and welcoming environment for guests and event attendees
- Restocking housekeeping trolleys and cleaning supplies
- Reporting maintenance issues and lost property
- Following safe work practices and chemical handling procedures
- Providing courteous and professional service to hotel guests
- Assisting with linen movement and other housekeeping duties as required
About you
- Excellent attention to detail
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
- A positive "can-do" attitude
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Physically capable of performing the inherent requirements of the role, including manual handling tasks, lifting and moving linen, pushing housekeeping trolleys, bending, reaching and standing for extended periods
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Previous housekeeping, cleaning or hospitality experience is desirable but not essential
