ICT Infrastructure & Network Architect | 1-Month Contract

Your new company A large public sector organisation is seeking an experienced ICT Infrastructure & Network Architect to support a significant technical discovery and documentation engagement within a complex healthcare environment.

This role will undertake a comprehensive assessment of network infrastructure, applications, systems and integrations, creating an accurate current-state view to support ongoing operations, future upgrades, risk management and technology lifecycle planning.

Your new role

Reporting to the ICT Operations Manager, you will work closely with infrastructure, platforms, architecture, security and vendor stakeholders to discover, analyse and document the existing ICT environment.

Key responsibilities will include

- Conducting on-site discovery workshops with technical and operational stakeholders
- Assessing network infrastructure, servers, applications, clinical systems, devices and supporting services
- Identifying and documenting network and application components
- Mapping system integrations, interfaces, dependencies and end-to-end data flows
- Reviewing LAN/WAN connectivity, VLANs, routing, switching, wireless and security zones
- Validating connectivity and communication requirements across applications, devices, servers and network infrastructure
- Identifying architecture gaps, technical risks, undocumented dependencies and potential single points of failure




- Developing detailed network, application, integration and data-flow architecture diagrams
- Producing an application and system integration register
- Developing comprehensive current-state and as-built technical documentation
- Providing knowledge transfer to relevant ICT stakeholders
- Working collaboratively with internal technical teams and third-party vendors to validate findings

What you'll need to succeed You will be an experienced ICT infrastructure, network or solution architecture professional with a strong background working across complex enterprise environments.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

- A minimum of 5 years' experience across enterprise ICT infrastructure, network architecture, systems integration or solution architecture
- Demonstrated experience undertaking ICT discovery, technical assessments and current-state architecture documentation
- Experience within healthcare, government or large enterprise environments
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN architectures, routing and switching, firewalls, wireless networking, network segmentation and VLANs
- Strong understanding of application architecture, interoperability and system dependencies




- Experience documenting REST/SOAP APIs, web services, middleware, database connectivity and data flows
- Experience with HL7 messaging or similar healthcare integration technologies
- Understanding of servers, virtualisation, storage and cloud-hosted environments
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure network design
- Demonstrated ability to produce detailed network, application, integration and data-flow diagrams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visio or equivalent architecture and diagramming tools
- Strong technical documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to independently analyse complex environments and translate findings into explicit, structured documentation

Relevant tertiary qualifications and certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, TOGAF, ITIL, Microsoft Azure Architect, CompTIA Network+ or CISSP would also be advantageous. What you'll get in return

This is an opportunity to work on a technically complex ICT engagement where you will play a key role in establishing an accurate picture of a large private sector technology environment.

The role will be primarily Perth-based, with some approved travel to a South West site (if required). You will to have access to your own vehicle . Approved business travel will be reimbursed in accordance with the engagement arrangements.
