Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Sewing Machine Mechanic to maintain, repair, adjust and optimise specialised sewing and textile manufacturing equipment used in our production facility. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of industrial sewing machines and associated manufacturing equipment through mechanical repairs, fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, machinery adjustments and equipment commissioning.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Inspect, service and maintain industrial sewing machines, binding machines, tacking machines, embroidery machines, CNC fabric cutting machinery and other specialised textile manufacturing equipment.
2. Diagnose mechanical faults and machinery malfunctions, identify the causes of equipment breakdowns and carry out necessary repairs to restore normal operation.
3. Perform machinery timing adjustments, calibration, mechanical alignment and troubleshooting to maintain accurate and consistent equipment performance.
4. Install, configure, test and commission industrial sewing, embroidery, tacking and other specialised textile manufacturing machinery.
5. Repair or replace worn, damaged or defective machinery components, including mechanical parts,



attachments and operating mechanisms.
6. Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance, including lubrication, machinery inspections, mechanical adjustments and equipment servicing to minimise breakdowns and production interruptions.
7. Adjust machinery settings, attachments and operating mechanisms to accommodate different fabrics, stitching techniques and headwear manufacturing requirements.
8. Inspect and monitor machinery performance during production, identifying technical issues and implementing adjustments to maintain product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
9. Maintain records of machinery inspections, servicing, repairs, replacement parts and preventative maintenance activities.
10. Provide technical guidance and training to production employees on correct machinery operation, routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting procedures.
11. Identify opportunities to improve machinery performance, equipment reliability and manufacturing processes through technical adjustments and maintenance improvements.
12. Assist with machinery testing and specialised production activities when required to ensure equipment operates according to manufacturing specifications.

Skills and Experience Required

Experience (Mandatory):

A minimum of five (5) years of relevant practical industry experience in industrial sewing machinery set-up, maintenance, servicing and mechanical repairs.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:





· Demonstrated experience setting up, maintaining, diagnosing faults and repairing industrial sewing machines and specialised textile manufacturing equipment.

· Practical experience setting up, operating, adjusting, maintaining or troubleshooting CNC fabric cutting machinery.

· We are seeking an experienced Industrial Sewing Machine Mechanic to set up, maintain, repair, adjust and optimise specialised sewing and textile manufacturing equipment used in our production facility.

· Experience performing machinery timing adjustments, calibration, mechanical alignment and repairs.

· Ability to independently diagnose mechanical faults and troubleshoot machinery breakdowns.

· Experience installing, configuring, testing and commissioning specialised manufacturing equipment.

· Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures, machinery servicing and mechanical component replacement.

· Understanding of commercial textile, garment or headwear manufacturing processes.

· Ability to adjust machinery settings and attachments to meet different production requirements.

· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain machinery in a safe and efficient operating condition.

· Ability to provide technical guidance and training to production employees regarding machinery operation and maintenance.

Qualifications:

· The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate skills and experience equivalent to the Australian standard for the occupation (ANZSCO 323215), as assessed by Trades Recognition Australia (TRA), where required for visa purposes. Extensive practical industry experience will be highly regarded.

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
