We are partnering with a QLD Govt client to source an experienced integration developer to uplift the interfaces between an existing in-house Asset Register and other in-house applications. This is an initial contract until the end of June 2027, based in the Brisbane CBD with the ability to perform some WFH.

Key responsibilities

- Assess existing interfaces, available APIs, data formats and system constraints

- Develop interfaces between the in-house asset register and other systems using a suitable, sustainable integration technology to be determined as part of the engagement

- Implement integration mechanisms using file-based processing, APIs, web services or other technologies

- Develop integration components to support additional datasets and information exchange requirements

- Implement authentication, error handling, retries, duplicate prevention and reconciliation

- Provide monitoring and diagnostic information so failed exchanges can be identified and resolved

- Support testing of interfaces collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders

- Document interface behaviour, configuration, deployment and support procedures

About you





- Solid experience in Oracle SQL/PL/SQL and file-based integrations with demonstrated capability to modernise bespoke interfaces using REST APIs, JSON, Python/.NET, XML, messaging and event-driven patterns, Git/CI/CD, Docker and cloud services such as AWS or Azure, including appropriate security, automated testing, logging and monitoring

- Understanding of data mapping, transformation, validation and synchronisation

- Strong understanding of relational databases, transaction processing and data consistency

- Designing interfaces that handle interruptions, duplicate messages and partial failures

- Integration testing, monitoring and operational troubleshooting

- Clear technical documentation and collaboration across system teams

- Experience in developing web interfaces, specifically working with React, JavaScript, Java, HTML, Oracle, IBM Websphere (desirable)

- Experience working with vendor-provided APIs and interface specifications (desirable)

- Understanding of asset data structures, asset hierarchies and relationships (desirable)

- Experience within large complex organisations, such as Qld Government
