Perth
Established in 1998, Greenbase is an innovative WA owned and operated company providing Environmental and Sustainability Accounting services. Our clients in the resource and energy sectors, among others, rely on our expertise to help them manage their data, non-financial risks, and environmental and sustainability compliance reporting. We have developed a software platform for our niche industry, with over 100 corporate clients using our system and services to deliver on their environmental and sustainability reporting obligations.
We seek an energetic and motivated team member who wants to start their career in environmental and sustainability accounting, starting on an initial one-year contract, with the opportunity of permanent employment.
About The Role
Based in our Perth office, the successful candidates will work with data (and lots of it) mainly for greenhouse gas and pollution estimations and climate change and sustainability reporting purposes.
Initial responsibilities of the role include:
End-to-end delivery of climate change, emissions, and sustainability reporting to meet client needs, under the guidance and supervision of senior team members.
Utilising Greenbase tools and systems to compile, manage, validate, and deliver audit-ready environmental and sustainability compliance reports for clients in the resource industry.
Collaborating with other Environmental Accountants to provide specialist advice and support within our areas of expertise.
Assisting clients to improve and integrate their internal processes, streamlining the preparation and delivery of sustainability-related information to internal and external stakeholders.
Participating in research,
development, and training sessions (both internal and external)
Contributing to creating and implementing new services to enhance Greenbase's market knowledge, internal processes, systems, resources, and documentation.
About You
Ideally, you will have a combination of the following attributes:
- Qualification in science, engineering or equivalent disciplines
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numeracy skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Self-driven with the ability to work effectively within a small team
- Ability to clearly follow written procedures and instructions
- Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure
- Right to work in Australia (required prior to applying)
Desirable, but not essential:
- 1 to 3 years of prior experience in environmental science, engineering, consulting, science communications, compliance reporting/auditing, or exposure to the resource industry
- Background in data analysis and management, particularly working with large datasets and modelling software (advantageous)
The Benefits We think we have a fantastic work environment. Everyone is highly skilled, collaborative,
technically focused, with strong work ethics and loves having fun (think of us as an undercover nerd squad). Between spreadsheeting and data mining, we spend time playing Bananagrams, building puzzles, picking the Hero of the Week, and trying to outwit each other with GIFs in MS Teams.
We have a strong focus on innovation and new product development with many improvements and new products being developed to support the entire workflow of sustainability teams at corporate environments – including initiatives related to recently released mandatory climate disclosure requirements, decarbonisation modelling, climate modelling, workflow management software, strategy development with clients and deep engagement with our clients to make everyone’s life more streamlined. There are plenty of opportunities to learn and grow here and the leadership team is very open to new ideas that could extend and expand our products and services.
Full training will be provided, and there are ongoing opportunities for professional development in many different directions.
We get to work from home! We recognise that versatile working arrangements support increased productivity and creativity, and improve work-life balance and physical and mental well-being. Flexible working arrangements will be available once the training and probation period is complete.
If this sounds exactly like the sort of role for you and you’ve ticked all or most of the above attributes required, press Apply and ensure you include your Resume and a Cover Letter that addresses the above criteria.
