Ultimo Catering & Events | Perth Short-term casual roles | Mid-November to late December
Have around 1–2 years of commercial kitchen experience and want hands-on experience working at major events in Perth?
Ultimo Catering & Events is looking for enthusiastic junior chefs and cooks to join our team for the busy Christmas events season.
You must be available every Thursday, Friday and Saturday throughout this period. These shifts will mainly involve working in office at large events in Perth city, preparing and serving food directly to guests.
Additional shifts on other days will be evening food preparation shifts at our Claremont Showground kitchen, getting ready for upcoming events.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Working alongside experienced chefs at large events in Perth city.
- Preparing, assembling and serving food on-site.
- Interacting with guests in a friendly, professional manner.
- Helping set up, replenish and pack down event food stations.
- Preparing ingredients and event food during additional evening kitchen shifts.
- Maintaining food safety, cleanliness and consistent presentation.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has around 1–2 years of commercial kitchen experience.
- Has basic knife skills and food preparation knowledge.
- Enjoys practical, hands-on work and is keen to learn.
- Is comfortable serving guests and working in a busy event environment.
- Takes direction well, communicates clearly and helps the team.
- Is reliable, punctual and available every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
- Has suitable Australian work rights and reliable transport.
You don’t need extensive event experience. Sound kitchen basics, a positive attitude and reliability are what matter.
