Position Overview

Akers of Lawn is looking for an experienced lawn rejuvenation technician who takes pride in their work and wants to take the next step towards leading a team.

About the role

You’ll deliver lawn rejuvenation, restoration and maintenance services to residential and commercial customers. You’ll assess lawn conditions, carry out treatments and give customers practical advice to help keep their lawns healthy.

This is a hands-on role with an opportunity to progress into a team leader position. As you demonstrate your skills and leadership ability, you’ll take increasing responsibility for organising daily work, guiding team members and maintaining our standards.

What you’ll be doing

- Carrying out scarification, coring, top dressing, levelling, overseeding and lawn repairs.
- Applying fertilisers and soil amendments, and performing general lawn maintenance.
- Assessing lawn health and identifying issues such as compaction, thatch build-up, drainage problems and nutrient deficiencies.
- Safely operating, loading, transporting and caring for machinery and equipment.
- Explaining treatments to customers and providing clear aftercare instructions.
- Completing job records, treatment details, checklists and before-and-after photos.
- Keeping work sites, vehicles and equipment clean, tidy and presentable.
- Communicating progress, equipment faults and job issues to management.
- Following protected work practices,



including correct PPE and product handling requirements.

What you’ll bring

- Proven lawn rejuvenation experience, including scarification and coring.
- Strong practical skills in lawn maintenance and a sound understanding of turf health.
- Certificate III in Horticulture.
- A current MR or HR truck licence.
- A current police clearance and Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain both before commencing.
- Confidence operating and maintaining lawn care machinery.
- Reliability, initiative and strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and a professional, friendly approach to customers.
- The ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
- The ability to undertake physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions while following safe work practices.
- The desire to develop your leadership skills and step into a team leader role.

Previous experience supervising or training others will be highly regarded. We also welcome experienced technicians who are ready to take their first step into leadership. Location: Based at our Hackham depot, with daily departure to job sites and return to the depot at the end of each workday.
