Lead Data Engineer

Want to raise the bar for an entire data engineering team?

We’re looking for a Lead Data Engineer to be the team’s “Bar Raiser”: setting the standard, mentoring engineers and building a data platform that becomes the single source of truth for the business. Hands-on, 7+ years’ experience.

What you’ll do

- Lead the design and build of a high-performing data engineering platform
- Build ingestion and transformation pipelines and the patterns behind reusable data products
- Work with the Head of Data Engineering to deliver the data engineering strategy
- Mentor and inspire engineers, and drive best practices and better ways of working
- Partner with data scientists,



ML engineers, analysts, DevOps and business stakeholders
- Keep data products secure, reliable and well governed

What you’ll bring

- 7+ years of hands-on data engineering
- Advanced SQL and Python
- ETL/ELT, dimensional modelling, data lakes and warehouses, CDC, orchestration and PII protection
- Experience with at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure)
- A problem-solving mindset, especially when the problem is ambiguous

Good to have: dbt, Snowflake or Databricks, Airflow, Fivetran or Airbyte, CI/CD, Terraform, MLOps
