Maintenance Assistant (Permanent Part Time)

48 Hours per Fortnight | Rochester, VIC

Are you a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in keeping facilities and outdoor spaces safe, functional and well-presented?

Rochester and Elmore District Health Service (REDHS) is seeking a motivated and reliable Maintenance Assistant to join our Maintenance Team on a permanent part-time basis (48 hours per fortnight).

This is a diverse role that combines facility and grounds maintenance with the delivery of home care maintenance services to clients throughout Rochester and surrounding communities.

About the Role

Working under the direction of the Maintenance Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

- Delivering maintenance-related home care services to community clients

- Performing gardening and grounds maintenance including mowing, weeding, spraying and general upkeep

- Undertaking general building repairs and preventative maintenance activities

- Assisting with furniture and equipment movements and facility set-ups

- Maintaining workshops, tools and equipment in a clean and organised condition

- Conducting inspections and identifying maintenance or safety issues

- Supporting contractors and tradespersons undertaking work on-site

- Contributing to a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for residents, clients, staff and visitors

About You To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Experience in general maintenance, gardening or grounds maintenance

- Trade qualification or relevant practical experience

- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements

- Strong communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A proactive, reliable and flexible approach to work

- Basic computer skills,



including experience using Microsoft Office applications
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence

- Physical fitness and the ability to undertake outdoor work

Rochester and Elmore District Health Service (REDHS) is situated in Rochester which is the gateway to the mighty Murray River region and close to the regional centres of Echuca, Bendigo and Shepparton.

We are an integrated rural health service, providing a broad range of acute, residential aged care, preventative and primary health programs to a population of approximately 8,600 people in the Campaspe and Bendigo Shires.
