Just Maintenance Services (JMS) is a Brisbane based construction and maintenance company servicing commercial stakeholders across south-east Queensland. Servicing our clients is at the core of our business, so prompt service delivery is important to us. We use Simpro to raise, track and monitor jobs, and assign field technicians and subcontractors as needed.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Painter to join our Operations team.

This is a full-time position of 38 hours per week with an annual salary of $77,000 to $83,000 plus superannuation, The position involves a variety of painting and maintenance tasks across commercial properties throughout South-East Queensland. The successful applicant will work independently, undertaking surface preparation, painting, minor plaster repairs, protective coatings and finishing work to meet client requirements.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare work areas by setting up ladders, drop sheets and protective coverings

- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling imperfections, priming and sealing.

- Mix and prepare paints and coatings, including colour matching.

- Apply paints, protective coatings and finishes to walls, ceilings, floors and other surfaces according to client requirements.





- Prepare floor surfaces and apply two-pack epoxy coatings.

- Repair and prepare ceiling and wall surfaces in preparation for painting.

- Select appropriate painting materials and application methods to ensure a consistent and professional finish.

- Clean painting equipment, tools and work areas, including disposing of waste materials.

- Train and support a full-time painter apprentice

About you

- Certificate III in Painting and Decorating plus at least one year of relevant work experience, or at least three years of relevant work experience

- Plastering skills essential

- High personal initiative and capacity to solve complex technical problems

- High personal integrity, reliability, and accountability

- Valuable communication and collaborative skills, and ability to relate effectively with people

- Good knowledge, understanding, and application of WH&S; and Quality

- Familiarity with Simpro or a similar field management system would be highly regarded

- Holder of an Australian's driver's licence (Manual)

- Holder of a Construction Induction card (aka White Card)
