Job Description

NPRS AUS PTY LTD is seeking a skilled and experienced Retail Buyer to join our business operations in Muswellbrook, NSW.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, selecting and purchasing products for our retail newsagency and takeaway food business. The role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating purchasing agreements, analysing market trends and ensuring cost-effective procurement to support business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

- Research market trends, customer preferences and product demand to determine purchasing requirements.

- Select and purchase appropriate retail products, food supplies and other merchandise.

- Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, payment terms and delivery arrangements.

- Develop purchasing plans and manage procurement budgets.

- Analyse sales performance, product margins and stock turnover.

- Evaluate suppliers based on quality, pricing, reliability and availability.





- Coordinate purchasing activities and maintain appropriate inventory levels.

- Identify new suppliers and opportunities to improve product ranges and profitability.

- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier agreements and procurement reports.

- Work closely with management to develop effective purchasing strategies.

Skills and Experience

- Relevant qualification in business, commerce, retail management, procurement or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

- Demonstrated experience in retail buying, purchasing or procurement.

- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.

- Knowledge of purchasing budgets, inventory planning and retail pricing.

- Excellent communication, organisational and analytical abilities.

- Ability to work independently and make informed purchasing decisions.

- Experience in retail or food service procurement is desirable.
