We're growing and are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team and help drive product innovation and continuous improvement across our range.

The Opportunity

As a Mechanical Engineer at Coolamon, you will develop and deliver designs for both new and existing products, ensuring they are practical, efficient, and built to last. You will work closely with production, procurement, and other teams, using CAD software to design and improve parts, assemblies, drawings, and simulations. You will participate in design validation, testing, and refinement, maintain and update the product data management system, and create accurate bill of materials in collaboration with the procurement team.

Your work will directly contribute to product improvement and innovation initiatives while ensuring tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.

The Challenge

You will need to quickly build familiarity with complex manufacturing processes, machinery, and workflows, implementing improvements without disrupting production, safety, or quality. Applying engineering theory to real-world manufacturing constraints, learning Coolamon-specific processes, and rapidly building knowledge of materials, standards, and internal systems will be key.



Success will also depend on your ability to communicate effectively with teams across the business who have diverse priorities and technical backgrounds.

About You

You hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and have experience, or strong capability, in CAD design (Solidworks). You bring strong problem-solving and analytical skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and a practical mindset with a genuine interest in manufacturing and fabrication. You thrive in hands-on environments and are eager to turn engineering knowledge into tangible solutions.
