About the role

Advanced Vascular Care is seeking a skilled and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis. This is a critical front-line position that serves as the first point of contact for our patients and callers. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and effective environment whilst ensuring smooth operations across our practice.

Based in Black Forest, SA 5035, this casual position offers flexibility and the opportunity to be part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to exceptional patient care.

What you'll be doing

- Providing friendly professional service to patients, doctors and other staff
- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments using practice management systems
- Processing payments, issuing receipts and maintaining accurate financial records
- Answering and triaging incoming telephone calls, directing enquiries appropriately and taking detailed messages
- Filing and maintaining patient records in accordance with privacy legislation and practice protocols
- Liaising with hospitals and other health networks
- Assisting with administrative tasks as required to support the smooth operation of the practice

What we're looking for

- Previous experience in a medical or healthcare reception environment is highly desirable
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, staff and external contacts
- Proficiency in using computers and medical practice management systems (Gentu is an advantage)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy,



particularly when handling patient information and financial records
- Knowledge of patient confidentiality requirements and privacy legislation
- Telephone etiquette and the ability to handle calls efficiently and professionally
- Competency with Medicare, DVA, HICAPS and private billing processes
- A genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service and supporting patient care
