About the role

GastroMedicine & ENDOSCOPY is seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team in Mornington, Victoria. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in ensuring our clinic operates smoothly and our patients receive exceptional first-impression service. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will be instrumental in creating a welcoming and efficient environment whilst managing the administrative functions that keep our medical practice running effectively.

This role is essential to our commitment to delivering outstanding patient care and maintaining our reputation for excellence in gastroenterology and endoscopy services.

What you'll be doing

- Greeting patients warmly upon arrival and managing patient check-in and registration procedures
- Answering incoming telephone calls professionally and directing enquiries to the appropriate staff members or departments
- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of clinician time and patient convenience
- Processing patient payments and managing billing inquiries with accuracy and professionalism
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with privacy legislation and clinic protocols
- Coordinating with clinical and medical staff to ensure patient information is current and readily available
- Handling administrative tasks including correspondence, filing, and data entry
- Assisting with patient education materials and procedural information

What we're looking for

- Previous experience working as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare reception setting - preferred but not essential
- Proficiency with medical practice management software and general computer systems - preferred but not essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse patients and staff
- Robust organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure,



particularly during busy periods
- Attention to detail and accuracy when managing appointments, records and payments
- Professional presentation and positive attitude with a genuine commitment to customer service
- Reliable and punctual with a willingness to be part of a collaborative team
