About the role

WA Surgery is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team in Murdoch, WA 6150. This is a permanent part-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring our clinic operates smoothly and our patients receive exceptional service from the moment they arrive. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will be instrumental in creating a welcoming and professional environment whilst managing essential administrative functions that keep our practice running efficiently.

What you'll be doing

- Greeting patients warmly and professionally as they arrive at the clinic, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued

- Managing patient check-ins and check-outs, including verifying personal details and updating patient records

- Scheduling appointments efficiently, maintaining the clinic diary and liaising with both patients and medical staff to minimise delays

- Handling incoming and outgoing telephone calls in a professional manner, directing enquiries appropriately and taking messages

- Processing patient payments and handling cash and card transactions accurately

- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations when handling sensitive patient information

- Assisting with general administrative duties including data entry, preparing theatre lists, correspondence with other healthcare providers.

- Managing waiting areas to ensure they remain clean and organised

- Supporting medical staff with reception-based tasks as required

What we're looking for

- Experience working in a medical reception or healthcare administration environment (Previous experience in surgical specialists rooms is preferable but not a must).

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and courteous manner

- Proficiency in computer systems and medical practice management software
- A keen eye for detail and accuracy,



particularly when handling patient records and financial transactions

- Ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with demanding situations or difficult patients

- Flexibility in work and ability to work independently as well as harmoniously within team environment.

- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks efficiently

- A genuine passion for providing excellent customer service and contributing to positive patient experiences
