Most air freight roles ask you to sell and inherit a product someone else built. This one asks you to build it.
This is a brand new role at an established Australian forwarder. They have a national branch network, IATA-approved air freight in every branch, and big plans to grow it over the next few years. What they don’t have yet is one person who owns the product. That’s you.
You’ll report directly to a director, with the autonomy and mandate to run it your way. Part hunter, part product builder, part coach. You’ll work alongside the branch teams to win accounts, shape trade lanes and build the agent network behind them.
Why consider?
- Up to $180k + super + bonus tied to commercial performance
- A brand new role, so you shape it rather than inherit it
- Direct line to a director, with real autonomy and a clear mandate
- An established platform to build on, not a blank page
- Room to build a dedicated air freight team as volume grows
You will
- Win recent air freight accounts and grow existing ones across Australia and NZ
- Join branch teams on customer calls and coach them to sell air freight
- Build defined products and trade lanes your teams can sell, not one-off quotes
- Grow agent and network relationships, including the odd overseas trip
- Help shape the national air freight strategy with the director
You have
- 3+ years in air freight sales or product management in the Australian market
- A solid mix of commercial and operational air freight knowledge, leaning commercial
- A track record of winning and growing accounts
- Based in Sydney or Melbourne (or willing to relocate here), and happy to travel
