The Public Trustee is a Government Business Enterprise whose powers and duties are set out in the Public Trustee Act 1930. It supports Tasmanians to protect their legacy and interests through Wills, Estates and financial administration services. Core to its purpose is providing financial administration services to Represented Persons within the Tasmanian community.

Its values of service, respect and integrity, together with sound governance, trusted stakeholder relationships and a committed workforce, underpin an efficient and effective business model that meets community needs.

A Non-Executive Director position is available on the Public Trustee Board. A key focus for the Board will be to meet community expectations of the Public Trustee in respect to delivery of services and client experiences that provide best achievable outcomes for all clients. The role for the Board is to ensure organisation provides its services with empathy,



dignity and respect.

The successful applicant will be an experienced director with strong commercial acumen and experience working in client-centred service organisations. They will bring sound strategic judgement and the capacity to support the organisation’s continuous improvement and growth.

Experience in trustee services or a trustee company environment would be desirable but is not essential. They will also bring relevant experience within the Tasmanian community and the environment in which the Public Trustee operates, and the capacity to support robust and trusted stakeholder relationships.
