Brisbane

Moreton Bay College and Moreton Bay Boys’ College are seeking expressions of interest from accomplished professionals to contribute to their Boards as Independent Non-Executive Directors.

With a proud history and a commitment to educational excellence, the Colleges are entering an important period of governance renewal. These appointments present an opportunity to apply your professional expertise, commercial judgement and strategic perspective to an organisation dedicated to developing the next generation.

About the Colleges

Located in Brisbane's bayside, Moreton Bay College and Moreton Bay Boys’ College provide independent education for girls and boys respectively, from Early Years through to Year 12.

Grounded in the Christian values of the Uniting Church, the Colleges are committed to academic excellence, student wellbeing and the holistic development of young people.

Their strategic priorities encompass Learning, Wellbeing, Sustainability, Environment and Community, with a focus on ensuring the Colleges remain strong, relevant and sustainable for future generations.

The opportunity The Colleges are seeking to strengthen the collective capability of their Boards through the appointment of Independent Non-Executive Directors who can provide sound judgement, constructive challenge and specialist expertise.

We are particularly interested in professionals with demonstrated capability and a track record of achievement in one or more of the following areas:

- Finance: Financial strategy, audit, risk management, commercial performance and oversight of significant investment decisions.
- Marketing and Communications: Brand positioning, strategic communications, reputation management and market engagement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Building trusted relationships, community engagement, strategic partnerships and philanthropy.
- Facilities and Infrastructure: Property development, capital works, infrastructure planning, asset management and major project oversight.

- Information Technology: Digital strategy, technology transformation, cyber security, data governance and technology investment.

Candidates should bring depth in at least one priority area and the judgement to contribute across broader Board matters. What you will bring

You will bring a demonstrated record of skilled achievement, sound financial literacy and the maturity to contribute to decision making in a not-for-profit setting.

Previous Board or governance experience will be highly regarded but is not essential where candidates can demonstrate the capability, maturity and perspective to make a meaningful contribution.

Equally important will be your ability to think strategically, ask constructive questions, exercise independent judgement and work collaboratively with fellow Directors and College leadership.

Alignment with the Colleges' Christian ethos and educational mission, a commitment to student safety and a willingness to contribute with integrity, humility and respect are essential.

Candidates must also satisfy applicable governance, eligibility and due diligence requirements, including eligibility to be an ACNC Responsible Person and to hold a Working with Children Blue Card.

Commitment and appointment

These are voluntary appointments for an initial three-year term.

The anticipated commitment includes nine evening Board meetings annually, approximately six committee meetings, preparation for meetings and participation in significant College events where possible.
