Southwest Earthworks is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Bunbury, Western Australia. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our mining and resources business.
As Operations
Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and the successful delivery of our projects. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our operational performance and contribute to the strategic growth of Southwest Earthworks.

What you'll be doing
- Overseeing all aspects of daily operational activities to ensure targets and deadlines are consistently met
- Managing budgets, resources and personnel to optimise operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Implementing and monitoring health, safety and environmental compliance procedures across all operational areas
- Developing and refining operational processes and procedures to improve productivity and reduce risks
- Coordinating with project managers, team leaders and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution
- Maintaining accurate operational records and reporting performance metrics to senior management
- Identifying operational challenges and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime
- Leading, motivating and developing the operations team to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Ensuring equipment maintenance schedules are adhered to and facilities are well-maintained
- Managing supplier relationships and procurement activities to ensure quality materials and services
What we're looking for experience in operations management within the mining, resources or energy sector
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale operations and complex projects
- Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations relevant to the mining and resources industry
- Excellent leadership capabilities with demonstrated ability to motivate and develop teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure
- Proficiency in relevant operational management systems and software
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff and stakeholders
- Sound financial acumen and budget management experience
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required
- Tertiary qualification in business management, engineering or a related field is preferred
