We’re a busy, family-run wholesale nursery looking for an experienced and motivated Nursery Operations Supervisor to oversee our daily operations.

Lead, Grow and Develop a Thriving Nursery Operations

Are you an experienced horticultural professional with a passion for plants, strong leadership skills and a drive for operational excellence?

We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and hands-on Operations Supervisor to oversee and manage the day-to-day production operations of our plant nursery.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands the complexities of a retail nursery and can lead a team to deliver high-quality plants, efficient production processes and consistent results.

About the Role

Reporting to management and liaising closely with the retail team, the Operations Supervisor will take responsibility for planning, coordinating and overseeing all aspects of plant care, stock levels and logistics.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a combination of horticultural expertise, practical experience, forward planning and strong people management skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and manage all day-to-day nursery operations activities such as stock levels, purchasing, pricing, deliveries and receivals team.
- Manage stock to meet customer demand and sales forecasts.
- Monitor plant health and quality.
- Lead, supervise and develop the nursery operations team.
- Allocate labour,



equipment and resources to maximise productivity.
- Monitor production costs, wastage and operational efficiencies.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes.
- Maintain accurate production records and reporting.
- Ensure workplace health and safety, environmental and biosecurity requirements are met.

About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Proven experience in a commercial nursery or horticultural production setting.
- Knowledge of plants and horticultural practices.
- Experience managing and coordinating production teams and logistics.
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
- Experience managing schedules, labour and operational resources.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make practical decisions.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of plant quality, safety and productivity.

A qualification in horticulture, production management or a related field will be regarded, along with demonstrated experience in commercial nursery operations. What We Offer
