Maroochy Eye Specialists is a patient-focused ophthalmology practice dedicated to delivering exceptional eye care with compassion, innovation, and expertise. We're expanding our team and seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician/Ophthalmic assistant or a Nurse, who is passionate about helping patients.

Position Overview

As an Ophthalmic Technician, you'll work closely with our ophthalmologists to support patient care through clinical testing, imaging, and assisting with exams and procedures. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a rapid-paced and busy clinical environment, and enjoys interacting with patients of all ages.

This casual position operates on weekdays only with scheduled shifts as required.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform patient workups including history taking, visual acuity, and IOP.

- Conduct diagnostic tests such as OCT, visual fields,



fundus photography, and biometry.

- Assist the Doctors during exams and minor in-office procedures

- Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical equipment

- Providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive patient experience

Qualifications

- Prior experience as an ophthalmic technician or ophthalmic assistant preferred

- Strong communication and patient service skills

- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work efficiently

- Experience with Genie is an advantage

- Applicants must hold a valid work visa or have appropriate Australian work rights
