About the role

Hughes Mining Labour Hire is urgently seeking experienced Painter/Blasters for an immediate start on a mine site in Western Australia’s North-Eastern Goldfields, approximately 940 km north-east of Perth.

This is a hands-on role carrying out surface preparation, abrasive blasting and protective coating work on fixed plant, structural steel and equipment in an operating mine workplace.

Roster: 2 weeks on, 1 week off (2:1)

What you’ll be doing

- Abrasive blasting and surface preparation to required standards
- Applying protective coatings by spray, brush and roller
- Working at heights and in confined spaces under site permit systems
- Setting up, operating and maintaining blasting and painting equipment
- Following all site safety procedures and housekeeping requirements

What you’ll need

- Proven experience as a Painter/Blaster (no trade certificate necessary)




- RIIWHS204E – Work safely at heights
- RIIWHS202E – Enter and work in confined spaces
- HRWL – WP (Elevating Work Platform) is desirable but not essential
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
- A strong safety focus and good work ethic
- Availability to start immediately
