We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and motivated Painter (Painting Trades Worker) to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking a range of painting and decorating tasks, including surface preparation, paint application, and finishing works across various projects while ensuring quality and safety standards are consistently maintained.

- Position: Painter
- Salary: $80,000 plus Superannuation
- Job Type: Permanent, Full Time, must be available to work at least 38 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint and wallpaper, cleaning, sanding, filling cracks and holes, and smoothing surfaces to achieve suitable finishes.
- Select, mix, and prepare paints, stains, varnishes, and other coatings to achieve specified colours, textures, and finishes.
- Apply paints, primers, sealers, varnishes, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Undertake interior and exterior painting works across residential and commercial properties, including new construction, renovation, and repainting projects.
- Measure surfaces and calculate paint quantities and other materials required to complete assigned painting tasks
- Apply wallpaper and decorative finishes,



including preparing adhesives, matching patterns, and trimming edges where required.
- Carry out minor surface repairs and prepare timber, plaster, metal, and other surfaces before applying coatings.
- Set up and safely use ladders, scaffolding, and other access equipment in accordance with workplace safety requirements.
- Inspect completed painting works, identify imperfections, and perform necessary touch-ups to ensure quality finishes.
- Clean, maintain, and store painting tools, spray equipment, and materials while keeping work areas safe and organised.
- Follow workplace health and safety (WHS/OH&S;) procedures, including the safe handling of paints, chemicals, and potentially hazardous materials.

Key Skills and Attributes:
- Minimum Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- At least 1 year of relevant practical experience in residential or commercial painting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in surface preparation, paint mixing, and application techniques using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Sound knowledge of different paint types, coatings, surface materials, and finishing methods.
- Ability to interpret job specifications, follow instructions, and complete painting tasks to required quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of WHS/OH&S; regulations and safe working practices.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
