Your Next Adventure Starts at Eighty Mile Beach
There's something special about Eighty Mile Beach. Set along WA's spectacular north-west coastline, it's a place where travellers come to escape the everyday, enjoy the great outdoors and experience the beauty of this remarkable region.
Summerstar Tourist Parks is looking for an experienced, hands-on Park Management Couple to take the lead at Eighty Mile Beach Caravan Park, a well-established and much-loved destination between Broome and Port Hedland.
This is an opportunity for a capable, down-to-earth couple who enjoy leading a team, delivering great guest experiences and taking pride in running a successful park.
With its remote location, busy tourist seasons and off-grid infrastructure, Eighty Mile Beach offers a diverse and rewarding role for managers who are practical, adaptable and confident making decisions.
About the Role
As Park Managers, you'll oversee the daily operations of the park, working together to ensure everything runs smoothly, from guest services and administration through to grounds, maintenance and essential infrastructure.
Typically, one partner will lead front office operations while the other focuses on grounds and maintenance, with both sharing responsibility for the overall success of the park.
Your Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Park Operations
- Taking ownership of the park's daily operations and overall presentation
- Leading, rostering and developing a team, including additional staff during peak season
- Planning ahead for seasonal demands, staffing requirements and operational priorities
- Managing budgets, expenditure,
financial reconciliations and reporting
- Maintaining safe work practices and ensuring compliance with relevant operational requirements
- Responding to operational challenges and making sound, practical decisions
Guest Experience & Business Administration
- Setting the standard for friendly, genuine hospitality across the park
- Overseeing reservations, reception and guest communications
- Managing booking systems, financial transactions and administrative processes
- Handling guest feedback and resolving concerns with professionalism and care
- Overseeing accommodation, housekeeping and amenities standards
- Managing the park shop, food and beverage services and licensed alcohol operations
Property Maintenance & Essential Services
- Overseeing grounds, buildings, facilities and general property maintenance
- Coordinating repairs, preventative maintenance and equipment servicing
- Operating and monitoring diesel generators and associated power infrastructure
- Overseeing reverse osmosis water treatment and wastewater treatment systems
- Maintaining park machinery, tools and equipment
- Ensuring essential services remain reliable and operational
- Managing environmental, emergency and security procedures
The People We're Looking For
We're looking for a couple who bring experience, initiative and a genuine commitment to running a great park.
You'll be comfortable taking responsibility, making decisions and leading by example. Just as importantly, you'll be approachable, supportive of your team and willing to get involved wherever needed.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous caravan park, tourism,
hospitality or similar management experience
- Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills
- Practical maintenance abilities and confidence working with machinery and mechanical systems
- Sound administration, financial and computer skills (RMS experience highly regarded)
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and solve problems
- A positive, adaptable attitude and willingness to get involved wherever needed
Experience with off-grid infrastructure is an advantage, although training can be provided.
What We Offer
- Furnished onsite accommodation, including power and water, for a nominal charge of $12.50 per person per week
- Weekly food and beverage credit of $150 per person
- The opportunity to live and work in one of WA's most unique coastal destinations
- A rewarding leadership position with support from our experienced operations and head office teams
- A long-term opportunity with a proudly family-owned Western Australian business
