Key Responsibilities

- Operate cremation equipment in accordance with Australian state regulations and workplace health and safety standards.

- Prepare and maintain the cremation chamber and surrounding areas.

- Handle and document the receipt, identification, and processing of deceased individuals.

- Accurately record cremation and ash-handling details using manual and digital record-keeping systems.

- Clean and maintain equipment and facilities to ensure safety, hygiene, and respectful presentation.

- Assemble Cardboard Coffins and maintain warehouse

- Assist with the respectful handling and return of cremated remains.

- Maintain confidentiality and show sensitivity in all interactions with clients and the public.

- Participate in training and stay updated with legislative and procedural changes.

Requirements

- Experience in the funeral industry is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely.





- Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks.

- High level of emotional intelligence and professionalism.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.

- Flexibility to work diverse shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required.

- A current driver’s licence.

Desirable Attributes

- Previous experience in crematorium or mortuary.

- Certification in Manual Handling or WHS (Work Health and Safety)

Work Conditions

- Shift-based work (typically 1-2 days per week) with potential for additional hours during peak periods.

- Exposure to varying environmental conditions and sensitive situations.

- Personal protective equipment (PPE) and full training provided..
