Based at our Largs North Office, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of payroll while contributing to the ongoing development of our systems, reporting, and people processes.

About the Role

As our Payroll Officer, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end management of payroll for weekly and fortnightly employees, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and a positive employee experience.

You'll work closely with our HR, Finance and Operations teams and become a trusted point of contact for payroll-related matters across the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Process weekly and fortnightly payroll accurately and on time using Xero.

- Review timesheets and payroll data to ensure accuracy and completeness.

- Apply pay rates, allowances, overtime and employment conditions in line with relevant awards and contracts.

- Maintain employee payroll records, leave balances and payroll adjustments.

- Calculate annual leave, personal leave and long service leave entitlements.

- Prepare payroll reconciliations, journals and payroll reporting.

- Support month-end and year-end payroll account reconciliations.

- Manage payroll compliance obligations including Superannuation, Payroll Tax, STP and ATO reporting.

- Respond to payroll enquiries professionally and in a timely manner.

- Identify discrepancies, investigate issues and implement solutions.

- Contribute ideas and improvements to payroll systems, reporting and processes.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines technical payroll knowledge with a practical, hands-on approach.





You enjoy working with numbers, can confidently investigate issues when something doesn't look right, and understand the importance of accuracy and confidentiality.

To be successful, you'll bring:

- Proven experience processing payroll end-to-end.

- Experience managing weekly and/or fortnightly payroll cycles.

- A sound understanding of Australian payroll legislation, Up-to-date Awards, employment contracts and leave entitlements.

- Knowledge of payroll compliance requirements including Superannuation, Payroll Tax, STP and ATO reporting.

- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups and reconciliations.

- Experience using Xero Payroll.

- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

- Strong organisational and time management skills.

- Clear communication skills and the confidence to follow up outstanding information.

- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to continuous improvement.

Experience within the transport or logistics industry is advantageous, but not essential.

Qualifications in Payroll, Accounting, Business, Finance, IT or a related discipline are welcomed. Most importantly, we're looking for someone with the right capability, attitude and approach.
