About the opportunity

We're Heater & Spa Parts, a growing Australian business specialising in pool and spa equipment, spare parts and technical products. We're looking for a punctual, reliable, organised and detail-focused person to join our small but busy warehouse and retail operation in Carrum Downs.

With the busy Spring/Summer season underway, we're open to applicants seeking Christmas/New Year casual work, ongoing casual employment or a longer-term permanent position.

In a perfect world, we'd love to find someone who wants to stick around, learn the business and eventually become an invaluable part of our team. However, we're equally happy to consider someone looking for seasonal work.

What the job involves

For the first few months, the job will primarily involve picking and packing customer orders. This is an active, hands-on warehouse position, not an office job. You'll spend much of your day on your feet, selecting products, checking orders, preparing parcels and helping keep the warehouse running smoothly. Regular lifting of 1-15kg is required, with some higher.

Accuracy, neatness and care are extremely key. We dispatch orders across Australia, and small mistakes can cause considerable inconvenience for our customers.

As you settle in and demonstrate your abilities, we'd like you to progressively take on more responsibilities, including:

- Receiving, checking and putting away incoming stock.
- Serving customers in our retail showroom.
- Answering phones and assisting with customer enquiries.
- Learning our extensive product range and how the different components work together.
- Helping identify spare parts and assisting with basic technical enquiries.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and presentable warehouse and showroom.
- Taking ownership of routine tasks and working independently once trained.

You don't need to know anything about swimming pools or spas when you start. What matters is your willingness and ability to learn.



For someone who enjoys learning, takes initiative and becomes genuinely capable across the business, there is potential for a much broader, longer-term role.

Hours and availability

Our initial hours are approximately 8:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Thursday, with some Friday work potentially available. Monday and Tuesday availability is absolutely essential -- We're a small business, and everyone relies on one another to keep things running. Being punctual, on-time, and arriving ready to work are fundamental expectations.

Additional hours, including potentially full-time employment, may become available as the business grows and the role develops. This is an opportunity rather than a guarantee.

About our workplace

We're a small, established, hands-on team working in a very small warehouse with an attached retail showroom. We also have 3PL warehouses interstate. The business owners and current worker are mature adults with grown-up kids. We mention this simply to give you an idea of the people you'll initially be working alongside. Your age makes absolutely no difference to us, but want you to be aware of us. We're interested in your attitude, reliability, capabilities and how you work with others.

We're looking for someone who:

- Is happy doing repetitive packing and warehouse work without losing concentration or accuracy.
- Values being part of a small team where everybody contributes.

Physical requirements: This is an active position involving standing, walking, bending and handling stock throughout the day. Some products weigh up to 22kg, although most are considerably lighter. The work must be performed safely, with appropriate handling assistance or equipment where required. Previous retail, warehouse, picking and packing, or customer service experience would be helpful, but reliability, accuracy and attitude are more important to us than an impressive résumé.

What we're looking for long-term

We're a growing business, and ideally we'd like to find someone who can grow with us. The right person could eventually become someone we trust to confidently handle customer enquiries, understand our products, manage everyday warehouse activities and help run the business when we're away.

That won't happen overnight, and we don't expect it to.

What we do expect is someone who turns up when they're supposed to, does their work properly, learns from experience and gradually becomes more capable and independent.

If you're only looking for Christmas work, that's perfectly fine too. We simply want to know from the outset.
