The Trustee for YANREY CATTLE TRUST Yanrey Station is a family-owned working cattle station in WA’s West Pilbara, and has been in the same family since 1901. Running approximately 2,500 breeding cows, along with heifers and steers, applicants should be prepared for remote station life, extremely hot summers (up to 49°C) and mild winters. We are seeking a Senior Beef Cattle Station Worker to join our small, hardworking team on a remote cattle station in the Pilbara region, WA.
This is a hands-on role for someone who performs skilled tasks on a beef cattle station and has the skills and experience to manage breeding, raising, feeding, treatment and welfare of at least 2,500 cattle on our remote Yanrey Station.
About you: Honest, reliable and self-motivated. Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in the heat. Happy to live and work in a remote location. Keen to learn and committed to staying long term.
Animal

responsibilities Duties include:
Manage monitoring and maintaining health of livestock Ensure Farm Workers daily patrol and report on health and condition of livestock Ensure sufficient cattle feed and water provision for livestock Prepare cattle health and welfare programs for Yanrey Station Overlook birthing and rearing young livestock duties Ensure pastures and crops for livestock production is maintained Oversee mustering livestock Supervise cattle marking, mulesing, foot paring and hoof care of calf Prepare Yanrey Station biosecurity management plan for Yanrey Station Prepare training for cattle station workers Ability to build and design feed rations not only to fatten for market but to sustain cattle in the dry period of no rain Oversee general cattle station activities such as regular maintenance and service of station equipment, clean housing of cattle and farm animals and all Yanrey Station machinery Qualification &
experience Qualifications AQF Certificate III including at least two years on-the-job training or AQF Certificate IV. At least three years relevant work experience may substitute the need for formal qualifications.
