The Opportunity

We are seeking a Mechanical Fitter / Pre-Delivery Technician to join our busy Service and Pre-Delivery team based in Canning Vale. Reporting directly to the Pre-Delivery Leading Hand, you will take ownership of the mechanical assembly, fit-out, inspection, and commissioning of brand-new machines before they head out to customer sites. Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret job cards, technical schematics, and customer build sheets to mount, align, torque, and fit heavy attachments, hitches, masts, and custom hardware, including minor bracket fabrication and welding as required.
- Route, plumb, and clamp auxiliary hydraulic circuits to eliminate chafing and ensure leak-free integrity. Wire and install 12V/24V accessories and safety devices, including isolators, E-stops, amber beacons, work lights, squawkers, and reverse camera systems.
- Complete factory OEM pre-delivery checklists across chassis, powertrains, running gear, and cabin controls. Carry out thorough fluid audits, lubrication services, and baseline pressure adjustments.
- Carry out full operational function, travel, and load testing in the test yard. Diagnose and troubleshoot any mechanical,



hydraulic, or electrical non-conformances and complete rework to deliver zero-defect machinery.
- Sign off completed PDI checklists, warranty forms, and QA logs. Safely move and stage machines between wash bays, workshops, and yard dispatch, maintaining 5S standards across your bay.

What We Are Looking For

- A recognised Trade Certificate in Mobile Plant Technology (Cert III), Heavy Commercial Vehicle, or Mechanical Fitting is desirable but not essential, solid hands-on mechanical experience will be highly regarded.
- Current Australian C-Class Driver’s Licence (MR/HR advantageous) and a valid Forklift Licence.
- Demonstrable experience assembling, fitting, or commissioning mobile plant, earthmoving, material handling machinery, or heavy commercial vehicles.
- Solid understanding of open/closed loop hydraulic circuits and 12V/24V electrical systems. Competent using torque wrenches, pressure test gauges, flow meters, and multi meters.
- High attention to detail, uncompromising standards in build presentation, and the ability to work autonomously against dispatch deadlines.
