About the role

We are seeking a proactive Private Rental Access Caseworker to join our team on a fixed term contract to 30 June 2027. Your mission is to assist families currently living temporarily in motel accommodation to successfully transition into stable, long-term private rental tenancies. You will act as a key advocate, bridging the gap between crisis accommodation and a place to call home.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare clients in temporary motel accommodation for independent private tenancies
- Actively network and negotiate with local real estate agents and landlords to advocate entry for clients
- Collaborate directly with the Queensland Department of Housing to access crucial private rental assistance products
- Equip clients with the budgeting tools, tenancy knowledge and skills required to maintain a successful tenancy

About you

- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Human Services or a related discipline, or private real estate qualifications




- Demonstrated experience in homelessness services or assisting vulnerable tenants
- Robust working knowledge of the Queensland private rental market, the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act, and state government housing products
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively with private sector stakeholders (e.g., real estate principals and property managers)
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and commercial awareness of the current private rental climate
