Centacare is seeking a well-organised and community-minded Program Officer to join our Geraldton based team to facilitate our Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS).

Since 1986 Centacare Family Services has made meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of people across the Midwest and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia who are experiencing disadvantage and hardship. Through practical services, programs and community initiatives, we help people overcome challenges, build resilience and improve their wellbeing.

This position is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference, connect with others, and bring energy and enthusiasm to our aged care community by connecting My Aged Care recipients with volunteer visitors for friendship, companionship and regular social contact.

This is a fixed-term, part-time position working 17 hours per week based in Geraldton.

Key Functions

- Facilitate the participant pathway.

- Support safe and sustainable volunteer placements and provide training and ongoing support.

- Manage partnerships, compliance and reporting

Selection Criteria: Qualifications

- A relevant qualification in community services, aged care, social, administration or a related discipline is desirable. Relevant experience may be considered in place of a formal qualification.

Selection Criteria: Skills & Experience

- Experience working within aged care, or volunteer coordination.





- Robust verbal and written communication skills, and strong IT skills.

- Experience In risk screening and risk assessment would be well regarded.

- Ability to work within the philosophy and ethos of Centacare.

Remuneration & Benefits A remuneration package based on the SCHADS Award 2010 plus superannuation and salary sacrifice option will be provided.

- Level 3.1, $40.49 per hour plus superannuation.

Successful applicants will hold, or be able to obtain, a WA Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance no older than 12 months, and a current WA Driver’s License.
