About The Role
At Multiworks, we believe great people are the cornerstone of a great business. We’re looking for a agile Project Manager who understands complex infrastructure (multi-disciplinary scopes, live utility and rail interfaces, staged works and demanding stakeholder environments) and can lead delivery from mobilisation through to handover. This is a full-time permanent position.
Key responsibilities

- Lead and develop the project team of project engineers, supervisors and site crews, setting clear priorities and expectations.
- Plan and sequence complex works, including staging, possessions, shutdowns, traffic management and interfaces with live assets and services.
- Own the commercial side of the project: budgets, cost-to-complete forecasting, progress claims, variations, extensions of time and subcontract administration.
- Identify, assess and manage technical, commercial and delivery risks, and escalate early when needed.
- Be the primary point of contact for the client, managing relationships, technical queries, inspections and reporting.
- Coordinate design, constructability reviews and technical interfaces with designers, service authorities and asset owners.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers and plant to get the best productivity and utilisation.
- Make sure QA, environmental and WHS systems and documentation meet contract and regulatory requirements.
- Provide clear,
accurate project reporting to the client and Multiworks leadership.
Essential
- 5+ years’ experience delivering civil infrastructure projects, including at least 2 years in a Project Manager role (or as a Senior Project Engineer running projects).
- Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, construction management or equivalent.
- A proven record of delivering complex infrastructure projects in sectors such as power, rail, water, gas or roads.
- Strong commercial skills, including contract administration under AS 4000, AS 2124 or similar, plus forecasting, variations and claims management.
- Experience managing interfaces with live assets, service authorities and multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency with project controls and management tools, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or Procore.
- Strong leadership, client management and communication skills.
- Confidence managing subcontractors, plant operations and plant utilisation.
Desirable
- Experience on tier 1 or government infrastructure projects, or on alliance or ECI contracts.
- Strong understanding of ground conditions, geotechnical risk and materials handling.
- Experience with bulk earthworks, mass earthmoving, cut/fill operations, benching, battering and site levelling.
- Knowledge of GPS and machine control systems.
- Relevant tickets and accreditations, such as rail industry worker, utility network access, or WHS management.
