About the Role

We currently have an chance for a Purchasing Officer to join our critical Supply Chain in our fast paced Winston Hills Office.

Reporting directly to the Senior Supply Chain Manager, you will drive the purchasing of goods for Huhtamaki Foodservice Australia in a timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner, whilst playing a critical role in supporting operational continuity and maintaining strong supplier relationships. The role goes beyond transactional purchasing by contributing to continuous improvement, data driven decision making and alignment with broader business objectives including inventory optimisation, cost control and risk mitigation.

What You'll Be Doing

- Ensure necessary products are acquired in a timely manner supporting Huhtamaki’s sales and inventory strategy.
- Timely follow up on order status and updating reports and system as is necessary.
- Monitor stock levels,



forecast and replenishment parameters to inform data driven decision making.
- Working closely with Demand Planner and Sales team to build comprehensive understanding of business direction.
- Complete internal steps to confirm orders and sea freight, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support with goods receipt for local orders as required.
- Support with international goods receipt as required.
- Build and maintain relationships with overseas and local suppliers.
- Provide reporting and data to drive positive outcomes from suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support issue resolution related to supplier delays, stock shortages, quality concerns and stock damages.

To Succeed in this role, you will need:

- Demonstrated experience with end to end International Purchasing
- Experience with collaborating with freight companies and 3rd party service providers.
- Previous experience working with International Suppliers
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (written & verbal)
- Strong capability in Microsoft Excel is essential
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proactive attitude and be able to multitask to support dynamic team
