About the role

GM Rail is continuing to grow and we are looking for experienced Railway Engineers to join our team and support a growing portfolio of rail, rollingstock, infrastructure and heavy-haul projects across Australia.

We are particularly interested in speaking with engineers based in Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales, although strong candidates from elsewhere in Australia are also encouraged to apply.

This is an prospect to join a growing Australian rail business and work across a variety of projects, clients and technical challenges rather than being limited to a single project or discipline.

Responsibilities

Depending on experience and discipline, responsibilities may include:

- Engineering and technical support for rail and rollingstock projects
- Design reviews, technical assurance and engineering investigations
- Project engineering and delivery
- Working with clients, contractors, operators and suppliers
- Site inspections, technical assessments and reporting
- Supporting tendering, planning and development of new rail projects
- Contributing technical expertise across GM Rail's growing Australian project portfolio

Qualifications and experience

We would like to hear from candidates who have:





- An engineering degree or equivalent relevant qualification
- At least 2 years of professional experience working within the Australian rail industry
- Experience in one or more areas of rail engineering, including rollingstock, track, civil, mechanical, electrical, signalling, systems, operations or project engineering
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with clients and project teams
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to engineering

Experience in heavy haul, mining rail, freight, passenger rail or major rail infrastructure projects would be particularly valuable.
