About the role

We are seeking an experienced Recycling Plant Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our recycling facility based in Brooklyn, VIC 3012. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring our recycling plant operates efficiently, safely, and profitably.

The Recycling Plant

Manager will be responsible for maximising plant output, maintaining regulatory compliance, managing staff performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position is essential to City Circle's commitment to sustainable waste management and will directly impact our operational success and environmental objectives.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee all aspects of daily recycling plant operations, including material sorting, processing, and quality control procedures
- Manage and supervise plant staff, including training, performance management, and safety coaching
- Develop and implement operational strategies to maximise plant efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations and industry standards
- Co-Ordinate with Maintenance department all plant maintenance schedules to ensure all equipment operates at optimal performance levels
- Analyse plant performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management on operational KPIs
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or safety




- Maintain safety standards and foster a strong health and safety culture among all plant personnel
- Manage budget allocation and control operational expenditures within approved limits

What we're looking for

- Proven experience managing recycling, waste processing, or similar industrial plants, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management/supervision capacity
- Strong knowledge of recycling processes, material sorting, and waste management industry practices
- Demonstrated expertise in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance, including familiarity with relevant legislation and standards
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
- Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to interpret operational metrics and KPIs to drive decision-making
- Strong communication and team builder mentality with the ability to liaise effectively with staff and management
- Preferred: Background in manufacturing or industrial plant management
