About the role

Aplus Nursing Agency is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) and Enrolled Nurses (EEN) to join our casual workforce in Hobart. This is a casual position offering flexible working arrangements to support aged care facilities across the region. Whether you are looking for additional income, seeking flexibility around other commitments, or exploring aged care nursing, this role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults whilst maintaining control over your schedule.

You will be based in Hobart, TAS 7000, with potential to work across multiple aged care settings within the local area.

Key responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse, your primary duties will include:

- Delivering high-quality, person-centred care to aged care residents in accordance with best practice standards and regulatory requirements
- Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments and developing individualised care plans tailored to resident needs
- Administering medications and managing therapeutic treatments under appropriate supervision and clinical governance
- Monitoring resident health status, identifying changes in condition, and escalating concerns to senior clinical staff
- Providing direct personal care including hygiene, toileting, grooming, and assistance with activities of daily living
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of all nursing interventions and resident observations
- Supporting residents' emotional and psychological wellbeing through compassionate communication and person-centred approaches
- Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary aged care teams, including GPs, allied health professionals, and support workers
- Maintaining infection control standards and adhering to health and safety protocols




- Responding promptly and professionally to resident and family queries and concerns

What we're looking for We are seeking nurses who are committed to excellent aged care delivery and who meet the following requirements:

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EEN)
- Current Working with Children/Vulnerable People Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current COVID-19 vaccination status in accordance with facility requirements
- Demonstrated experience working in aged care or related healthcare settings
- Strong clinical knowledge relevant to aged care nursing practice, including chronic disease management and end-of-life care awareness
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact sensitively and respectfully with older adults, families, and healthcare teams
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in fast-paced environments
- Sound organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
- Commitment to maintaining professional standards and continuing career development
- Reliability and flexibility in responding to shift availability requests
- Proficiency in basic computer systems and electronic health records (desirable)
