Are you someone who genuinely cares about helping customers and takes pride in providing great service? We are looking for a friendly, reliable Retail Assistant to join our busy Scott St team. This role is front and centre of our business supporting our trade and retail customers with the right products, advice and service every day.
Based on the hardware counter, you’ll be the first point of contact for many of our customers. You’ll listen, ask the right questions, and make it easy for customers to get what they need whether they’re builders, tradies or DIYers.
We are looking for a motivated person to assist with our Goods Inwards operations. This will include unloading deliveries, checking and receiving stock, and ensuring our goods inwards area is clean and tidy.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDEPrior experience with hardware, warehousing or within the building industry is advantageous. The role is well suited to someone with confidence, who enjoys working with people.
- Providing warm,
professional and helpful service to all customers
- Handling of all stock is done in a manner to minimise damage and wastage
- Maintain store and warehouse in a clean and protected manner adhering to workplace health and safety guidelines
- Undertake regular product training with market leading brands
- Ensure orders are prepared on time and in full to meet customer requirements
- Monitor stock levels to ensure supply and demand needs are met
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Has a genuine care for customers and a positive, can-do attitude
- Enjoys working with people and building strong relationships
- Is reliable, punctual
- Is willing to learn products, systems and processes
- Physically fit with the ability to safely lift loads and manually handle goods
- Exceptional attention to detail coupled with high level of accuracy
- High awareness of site safety and duty of care for your team, staff and site visitors
- Forklift Licence (LF) preferred (for Goods Inwards role)
