About the Role:

We are seeking a high-caliber Lead SAP Developer (SAP Gateway / OData) to spearhead the technical design and build of 12 mission-critical financial and operational extraction services (six core objects each across two commercial operating divisions) for a premier Australian beverage and FMCG enterprise.

In this role, you will be the SAP technical authority, establishing design patterns, authoring high-performance SEGW services, enhancing standard extractors, setting development standards for offshore engineers, and leading technical cutover and historical data loads.

Key Responsibilities:

- OData & Gateway Architecture: Design and build robust OData extraction services in SAP Gateway, leveraging Operational Data Provisioning (ODP)-based services from standard extractors where applicable and architecting custom extraction programs where required.
- Extractor Enhancements & DataSources: Enhance standard SAP extractors using append structures and enhancement frameworks (BAdIs and user exits), and develop custom generic DataSources with robust timestamp delta mechanisms.
- Extraction Performance & Controls: Implement query filters, server-side paging, delta tracking, and reconciliation control totals to guarantee end-to-end data integrity and high throughput.
- Standards & Technical Leadership: Define service templates and ABAP OO coding standards, conduct rigorous code reviews for offshore developers, and enforce compliance with enterprise development and Change Advisory Board (CAB) release processes.
- Testing, Transports & Technical Cutover:



Own SAP transport paths, resolve complex defects during SIT and UAT, orchestrate historical data extraction, and lead the technical cutover into production.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications:

Must-Have Requirements:

- 8+ years of professional SAP ABAP development experience, with at least 4+ years specialized in SAP Gateway and OData service development.
- Advanced ABAP OO & Gateway Expertise: Deep expertise in SAP Gateway service modeling, custom Data Provider Class (DPC) extensions, server-side paging, agile filtering, and batch handling.
- SAP ECC Extractors & ODP Delta: Proven hands-on track record with standard finance and logistics extractors:
- Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) extractors
- Logistics Cockpit (Billing / Sales) extractors
- General Ledger (FI-GL) extractors
- Master data extractors and Operational Data Provisioning (ODP) delta queuing mechanisms.
- High-Volume Performance Tuning: Proven capability in optimizing SQL queries, internal table operations, and data extraction pipelines for large-scale financial and billing data volumes.
- Cutover & Release Execution: Practical experience managing transports, CAB approval processes, mock cutovers, and production cutover execution.

Good to Have / Preferred:

- Experience with SAP ECC on HANA (CDS Views, AMDP).
- Familiarity with enterprise standards for ODP DataSource enablement and exposure.
- Exposure to SAP CPI / BTP Integration Suite.
- Prior delivery experience in the FMCG, Food & Beverage, or Manufacturing industry.
