They’re now building out their Australian team and are hiring a Security Engineer to join their Managed Detection and Response (MDR) team, owning Australian-hours coverage. It’s fully remote across Australia, and it’s a hands-on role investigating real attacks across customers’ cloud and Kubernetes environments.
Responsibilities:
- Own complex security incidents escalated from Tier 1/2, including live customer engagements.
- Investigate supply chain, API, malware and runtime attacks, building playbooks as you go.
- Fine-tune the platform’s detection and response, working closely with Research and R&D.;
- Review customer environments and turn findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
Experience:
- Hands-on detection engineering, incident response and threat analysis, ideally in cloud security.
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience beyond the basics.
- Strong cloud knowledge across AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Solid Linux and networking, plus Docker and container security.
- Scripting in Python or Bash.
- Solid communicator who stays composed with customers under pressure.
Package:
- Up to AUD 190k + super
- Share options
- Fully remote (must be based in Australia, no visa sponsorship)
- AUD 200 a month towards private health insurance
- AUD 250 home office budget
- 20 days’ annual leave + public holidays
- A real chance to progress, with a clear path into technical or team leadership as the Australian team grows
The role includes a shared on-call rotation. Escalations are infrequent, but you’ll need to be available during your rotation week. If this sounds like you, or someone you know, send me a message, ideally with a CV or a mobile number, and I’ll follow up with a call.
