Senior AI Engineer | Adelaide (In office) | $140k – $160k + Super

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior AI Engineer, you’ll be a hands-on member of the engineering team, scoping, designing, building, integrating and testing software that solves real end-user needs. You’ll bring generative and agentic AI into production features, write quality Java code, and coach a small group of developers to deliver well-engineered components on time. You’ll also help drive AI adoption across the development team, sharing what works and raising the bar on how the team builds with AI.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Design, implement and test software components in Java
- Build and integrate generative and agentic AI solutions into production software
- Design data storage models and work with technologies such as Postgres and Elastic




- Coach a small team of developers to ensure quality and timely delivery
- Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments such as AWS
- Work across the stack with web technologies (HTML, CSS) and frameworks such as React, Angular and Spring
- Champion AI adoption and best practices within the development team

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

- Hands-on experience implementing generative and agentic AI solutions in software products
- Strong experience across software engineering, data storage and web technologies
- A genuine interest in staying current with state-of-the-art AI developments and best practices
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills, including UML
- A highly organised, collaborative approach with a track record of getting things done and meeting deadlines
- A Bachelor’s degree in Software or Systems Engineering, Computer Science or a related field

- $140,000 – $160,000 base + superannuation

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

- This role is based on-site in Adelaide, 5 days per week
