Compare Club

Sydney

- Lead editorial for Australia's largest financial services comparison site
- Hands-on, AI-enabled role focused on the work that matters most
- 4 days a week, hybrid: 2 in our Sydney office, 2 from home

About Compare Club Compare Club is Australia’s largest financial services comparison company. We help Australian households make better decisions about insurance, home loans, energy and more, and save them money along the way. Our content plays a big part in that. It’s often the first place people turn when they’re trying to make sense of their finances.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Editor to own our editorial program. You’ll find the stories that matter to Australian households, decide how best to tell them across our website, emails and other formats, and make sure everything we publish is timely, accurate and useful.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced, AI-enabled role. AI tools, offshore support and external contributors increasingly handle routine production. That frees you to focus where your judgement counts most: original thinking, sharp analysis, high-value writing and editing, and keeping quality high across our whole content estate.

You’ll report to our Head of Brand Experience and work closely with our Research & PR, Member Experience, Campaign & Social, Creative Studio, Performance and Growth teams.

What You’ll Do

- Build and deliver a weekly and monthly editorial roadmap across our product verticals, balancing planned, seasonal and evergreen content with rapid-moving news and trends
- Own editorial delivery, managing priorities,

deadlines and workflows so output stays high quality and progress stays visible
- Research, write and edit authoritative content on insurance, household finances, cost of living, interest rates, housing and economic policy
- Turn complex data, research and policy into clear, engaging stories, choose the right format for each (articles, emails, video, infographics or interactive tools), and brief creative and technical teams to bring them to life
- Structure content to rank in Google and be cited by AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Overviews
- Shape and improve our AI-enabled editorial workflows, prompts and knowledge sources, partnering with technical specialists on bigger builds
- Commission and manage external contributors and subject-matter experts
- Keep website content accurate and current as rates, thresholds, policy and regulation change
- Take content through our compliance review process
- Use audience and performance data to set editorial priorities, decide what to refresh or expand, and extend stories across other channels

What you’ll bring

- Strong journalistic instincts and editorial judgement, with a knack for finding compelling angles and adapting stories for different audiences, channels and formats
- Experience covering personal finance, insurance,

consumer affairs or cost of living
- A track record of building and communicating a data-led editorial roadmap
- Confidence turning data and research into compelling consumer stories
- Hands-on experience with generative AI tools, including editing AI-assisted drafts for accuracy, quality, originality and brand tone
- Practical experience developing and refining AI prompts and editorial workflows to improve efficiency, quality and output
- A practical understanding of SEO, AEO, digital publishing and audience data
- A strong focus on accuracy, sourcing and compliance
- Experience commissioning writers and managing stakeholders independently
- The initiative to find the story and lead the roadmap rather than wait for a brief

What’s on offer

- Permanent part-time role, 4 days per week
- Hybrid working: 2 days in our modern Sydney office, 2 days from home
- Ownership of a high-impact editorial program at Australia’s largest financial services comparison company
- The chance to shape how AI and editorial work together
- Up to 22 weeks’ fully paid parental leave, for every family
- Pregnancy loss leave (2–8 weeks) and 10 days’ IVF leave
- Ongoing training and professional development
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for confidential wellbeing support
- Rewards, recognition and regular team celebrations

Ready to apply? If you’re an editor who loves finding the story in the numbers and wants to shape how AI and editorial work together, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now with your CV.
