- Newly created position with scope to shape the remit
- Exposure to senior executives and strategic decision-making
- Prospect to influence a major consumer banking portfolio
I’m recruiting a newly created Senior Product Manager, Strategy & Planning position within the Everyday Banking division of a major financial services organisation. This role sits within the Transactions & Cards portfolio and has been created to provide dedicated ownership of strategy, planning and the future direction of the portfolio.
It’s a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys answering the bigger commercial questions: where should we invest, what should the roadmap look like and what should we prioritise next?
The role
Working closely with Product, Strategy, Data and senior leadership, you’ll help shape both the immediate and longer-term direction of the portfolio. The remit will be approximately 50% strategy development and 50% roadmap and planning execution.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and refresh product and portfolio strategy
- Build multi-year strategic roadmaps
- Lead strategic planning and prioritisation
- Assess competitor, customer and market activity
- Identify future growth and investment opportunities
- Develop business cases and financial models
- Support investment and trade-off decisions
- Translate data and commercial analysis into clear recommendations
- Present strategy and portfolio performance to senior executives and ELT forums
- Help generate new strategic initiatives rather than solely executing an established roadmap
- Explore opportunities to apply AI and emerging technology across the portfolio
What we’re looking for:
- Strong strategy development and roadmap experience
- Excellent commercial thinking
- Experience developing business cases and financial models
- Strong presentation and executive communication skills
- Confidence influencing senior stakeholders
- Experience making prioritisation and investment recommendations
- Financial services exposure, ideally banking
- Curiosity around AI, automation and emerging technology
- Direct cards or transaction banking experience is preferred but isn’t essential. Strong financial services strategy experience highly regarded.
The team are looking to have someone onboard ASAP and ready to move quickly with the recruitment process. If your experience aligns and you’re open to exploring a new opportunity, apply now or contact me directly for a confidential conversation.
