Key duties and responsibilities

Duties may include some or all of the following:

1. Lead and create software and technical designs for the realisation of highly complex development solutions
2. Develop strategy to ensure high quality code and long-term maintenance of a product's code base
3. Provide specialist technical advice on software development and maintenance
4. Lead the release and ensure go-live production support and maintenance for the team’s developments
5. Lead analysis, design, software development, prototyping, unit testing and maintenance activities
6. Review and undertake high-level analysis of technical requirements to support project evaluation with proposed solutions
7. Ensure compliance with endorsed software development methodologies
8. Investigate and resolve highly complex ICT issues
9. Lead a positive risk management culture
10. Engage and manage stakeholder relationships and partner with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability
11. Contribute to business and strategic workforce planning, and drive the development of local strategies to improve key performance measures
12.



Review and prepare reports, briefs and corporate documentation and communicate technical findings and recommendations
13. Manage business objectives and implement strategic priorities to achieve outcomes
14. Lead the development and delivery of projects within the assigned area of responsibility
15. Perform and manage cost analysis activities as required
16. Lead and manage staff to increase performance and engagement through:
17. coaching
18. capability development
19. performance management
20. health and well-being support
21. Exercise appropriate delegation in accordance with legislations and guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE/QUAIFICATIONS

1. The ability to quickly obtain in depth knowledge and understanding of:
2. Frameworks, legislation, policies, procedures and information management requirements relevant to the work area
3. The agency’s privacy, ethics, workplace health and safety and security protocols
4. Relevant business systems and tools
5. Prior experience within government or similar large-scale organisation.
