I’m looking for an experienced AI architect to help a leading Australian university shape its enterprise AI capabilities, covering strategy, governance, architecture and practical delivery. You’ll work closely with technology leadership and business stakeholders to assess current capabilities, establish transparent architectural direction and guide the responsible adoption of AI across the university.
The work will include
- Developing target-state AI architecture, reference patterns and integration standards.
- Establishing practical governance covering acceptable use, privacy, security, risk and technology approvals.
- Independently evaluating enterprise AI platforms, LLMs and vendor solutions.
- Assessing data readiness and approaches to secure enterprise integration.
- Prioritising AI use cases and providing architectural guidance for initial pilots.
- Building internal capability through mentoring and knowledge transfer.
I’m keen to speak with architects who have delivered enterprise AI solutions and can demonstrate:
- Strong solutions or enterprise architecture experience, with a recent focus on AI and Generative AI.
- Experience establishing AI governance frameworks and responsible adoption guidelines.
- A solid understanding of cloud platforms, data architecture, enterprise integration and information security.
- The ability to advise senior stakeholders and translate recommendations into clear solution designs and implementation guidance.
Higher education experience will be highly regarded. Experience with Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, RAG and secure enterprise LLM integrations would also be valuable. This would suit a senior consultant who enjoys shaping direction, making independent recommendations and helping teams put them into practice.
