We are looking for a highly experienced Senior SQL Developer with deep expertise in complex SQL query design and optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL (including experience in PL/SQL or other RDBMS systems) and some exposure to Python (Pandas) development for data transformation and automation.
This role focuses exclusively on Google BigQuery SQL development for advanced analytics and data transformations. So, experience with Google cloud is a plus but not mandatory, but candidate should be willing to train themselves in various Google Cloud technologies for this role on joining the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries and views in Google BigQuery for large-scale analytical workloads.
- Implement advanced transformations and aggregations using BigQuery’s capabilities (e.g., window functions, CTEs, partitioning).
- Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into efficient BigQuery solutions.
- Use Python (Pandas) for data wrangling and automation scripts where needed.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize BigQuery query execution plans.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- 12+ years of hands-on experience in SQL development (experience in PL/SQL or other RDBMS is acceptable).
- Strong expertise in Google BigQuery or similar cloud-based data warehouses is preferred but not mandatory
- Self starter with ability to interact with Onshore and deliver SQL solutions independently.
- Proven ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries for large datasets.
- Basic experience with Python, especially Pandas for data manipulation.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, partitioning, and performance tuning in BigQuery.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Nice-to-Have
- Familiarity with ETL tools and data pipeline concepts.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
