Our client is a well-established engineering consultancy based in North Sydney, delivering structural and civil engineering across a broad range of commercial, residential and industrial projects. They have a large, collaborative team and a genuine commitment to developing their engineers.

About the Position

- Lead structural design on a varied mix of commercial, residential and industrial projects

- Work with a large support team of junior engineers, drafters and civil engineers

- Take ownership of projects from concept through to construction

- Mentor junior engineers and help shape the next generation of the team

- Permanent, full time role based in the North Sydney office

Key Responsibilities Include

- Design structural systems in concrete, steel, timber and masonry

- Prepare calculations, specifications and design documentation

- Direct and review drafting output to ensure quality and accuracy

- Guide and check the work of junior engineers

- Liaise with clients, architects, builders and other consultants

- Carry out site inspections and respond to construction queries

- Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards and the NCC

- Manage your own project timelines, fees and deliverables

Skills and Experience Required

- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

- Significant structural design experience, ideally 8+ years

- Strong design capability across concrete, steel and timber structures





- Experience on commercial, residential or industrial projects

- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software

- Sound working knowledge of Australian Standards and the NCC

- Confidence mentoring junior engineers and directing drafters

- CPEng or NER registration, or working towards it
