Role Description The Senior Water Engineer will lead the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing technical designs and reports, undertaking hydraulic and process calculations, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and reviewing design documentation for quality and compliance. The role involves mentoring junior engineers, participating in client meetings, supporting proposals and bids, and contributing to project management activities such as schedule, budget, and risk tracking.





This is a full-time hybrid role based in Cairns, QLD, with a combination of office-based work and some work-from-home flexibility.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in wastewater systems, including Wastewater Treatment and Pump Stations.
- Strong technical capability in potable Water Supply and Water Treatment processes.
- Proficiency in the planning and design of Water Distribution networks.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Water Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Professional engineering registration or eligibility (e.g., Chartered status) is highly regarded.
- Experience working with relevant Australian standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements for water infrastructure.
- Ability to manage projects, coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, and communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders.
- Skill in mentoring and supporting early-career engineers and contributing to a collaborative, inclusive team culture.
