POSITION TITLE: Shop Assistant

DEPARTMENT: Red and Black Shop

CLASSIFICATION: Casual

REPORTS TO: Shop Manager

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily duties include

- Greeting customers who enter the shop;

- Assisting shoppers to find the goods and products they are looking for;

- Answering queries from customers;

- Giving advice and guidance on product selection to customers;

- Responsible dealing with customer complaints;

- Dealing with customer refunds;

- Being responsible for processing cash and card payments;

- Balancing cash registers with receipts;

- Reporting discrepancies and problems to the Manager;

- Be involved in stock control and management;

- Stocking shelves with merchandise;





- Attaching price tags to merchandise on the shop floor;

- Receiving and storing the delivery of large amounts of stock;

- Working within established guidelines, particularly with brands;

- Be responsible for processing second hand consignment stock;

- MYOB experience preferred but not essential;

- Processing and fulfilling online shop orders, including picking, packing and preparing orders for collection or dispatch;

- Communicating with customers regarding phone and online shop orders, including order confirmations, stock availability, collection arrangements and delivery updates;

- Responding to online shop enquiries in a skilled and timely manner.

- Any other tasks assigned by the Manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a clothing/apparel/retail role with experience in stock and cash handling.

- Desired experience in working in a fast paced environment with the ability to think and solve problems quickly during busy periods.

REQUIRED LICENCES/CERTIFICATES

- Working with Children Check;

- Police Check;

- Safeguarding Children Checks.

- Report to management any criminal charges or convictions you receive during the course of your employment that may indicate a possible risk to children and young people;

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT The successful applicant will be subject to a “Working with Children Check and Criminal Records Check” where applicable. This includes reference checks, identity checks qualification check and professional registration checks.
