We’re a one-stop shop for everything kitchen related—and we’re now on the lookout for a Skilled Stonemason to join our passionate, high-performing tea in Meadowbrook.
Key responsibilities
- Cut, shape and polish marble, granite, porcelain and natural stone
- Read and interpret plans and detailed specifications
- Measure materials and calculate angles and dimensions accurately
- Operate stoneworking machinery, hand tools and other fabrication equipment
- Fabricate benchtops using a range of glues and finishing techniques
- Work to production deadlines while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and company policies
Skills and experience
- Demonstrated stonemasonry experience
- Relevant trade qualification is preferred
- Ability to read plans and work from detailed drawings
- Experience using stonemasonry machinery and tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual and safety-focused
- Positive communication skills
Health & Safety Requirements (Silica Control)
- This role involves work with materials that may generate respirable crystalline silica (RCS)
- Candidates must be willing and able to wear respiratory protective equipment (RPE) and PPE at all times in designated areas
- Ability to comply with strict safety procedures, including wet cutting methods and dust suppression systems
- Dry processing, compressed air and dry sweeping are prohibited on site
- Must be able to follow all safe work procedures, training and supervision requirements
- Participation in training, inductions, toolbox talks and health monitoring is required
- Respirators must be correctly fitted, maintained and worn in accordance with site requirements (including clean-shaven requirements for tight-fitting masks where applicable)
About the role The successful applicant will work under the guidance of the Stone Team Leader and contribute to the fabrication of benchtops for Kitchen Innovations customers. We are looking for someone who is adaptable, dependable and able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
